The Sevier County Humane Society has announced plans to extend Thursday hours until 7:00 p.m. to better serve the public.
To celebrate, the animal shelter is holding an “Open Late Adoption Event” on Thursday, August 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with refreshments, door prizes and adoption specials. For all dog adoptions, the shelter is cutting the adoption fee in half and including a free bag of dog food. Everyone is invited to come out to the event and support the shelter, even if they are not ready to adopt a pet.
They will be accepting monetary donations as well as donations of bleach and blue Dawn dish soap for a special shelter cleaning event next Sunday and Monday.

However, they must first raise one million dollars to fund the project. Donate to the Building Fund in person at the shelter, by mailing a check or donate online through the shelter website.
