Sevierville Convention Center Hosting Encore Championships this Weekend

Encore Championships, a cheer and dance competition, will take place at the Sevierville Convention Center this weekend.

Sevierville Convention Center staff gathered early Friday morning to begin prep work as they assist production crews in transforming 126,852 square feet into a stage for the performing arts, preparing for over 300 cheer and dance teams to compete in the Encore Championships on March 14-15, 2015.

Encore Championships will bring athletes and their families to Sevierville from ten different states, including Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia and Virginia. The influx of an estimated 9,400 participants and spectators for the event will have a significant impact on the Sevierville area economy as they stay in cabins and hotels, enjoy dining in restaurants and shopping local stores.

This event combines high-energy cheer and dance competition with spectacular backdrops and a red carpet experience. Encore Championships is open to the public. Adults may purchase a 1-day pass for $20 or a 2-day pass for $30. Children ages 6-11 admitted with 1-day pass for $10 or 2-day pass for $20. Children five years old and under admitted FREE.
