Judges at the 2015 Craft American Spirits Awards, an annual competition hosted by the American Distilling Institute, awarded 1830 Original Unaged Corn Moonshine a Bronze medal in the Moonshine category. The award-winning moonshine crafted by Old Forge Distillery in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. is made with pure mountain spring water and freshly ground premium Tennessee corn from the historic Old Mill next door.
“Our Unaged Corn is our classic moonshine recipe that we craft in small batches using a copper column still,” said Head Distiller Keener Shanton. “When you look at the ingredients, it’s truly a ‘Made in Tennessee’ spirit from water to grain.”
1830 Original Unaged Corn has a smoky palate with a sweet finish and contains notes of vanilla, dark cherry and sweet corn. The spirit is available for sale at the Old Forge Distillery and area Knoxville stores for $24.99.
