Police in Sevierville are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint in her apartment near downtown Sevierville.
According to a release, Sevierville Police Department officers and members of the Emergency Response Team responded to a reported armed robbery at the Windy Creek Apartments, 420 Burden Hill Rd. in Sevierville, at approximately 1:27 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
A witness told officers that a man entered the open door of an apartment and demanded money from a female resident, whose two young children were also present. The assailant allegedly displayed a small black semi-automatic pistol and demanded that the female and two children go to an upstairs bedroom, where he pointed the gun at the female and also punched her in the face.
He reportedly stole jewelry, a computer, a small amount of cash and other assorted items, which he placed in a large black and red duffel-type bag before fleeing on foot.
The Emergency Response Team assembled nearby and entered the apartment to ensure that the assailant was not still inside.
Sevierville Police said the suspect is described as a white male, 20-22 years old, having a thin build with a shaved head or very short hair. He had a tattoo on one arm. Witnesses reported he was wearing a gray shirt, green shorts and black tennis shoes. He was also wearing a small black drawstring-type backpack.
