The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation announces the design unveiling for the new inclusive playground will be held tomorrow, Thursday, May 14, 2015. The ceremony will take place at the Sevierville Civic Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited.
The City of Sevierville recently partnered with Project Sevier, Inc. to create a unique all-inclusive playground at the Sevierville City Park. The new inclusive playground will enhance the existing Mt. Ton of Fun playground; when completed, the playground will be renamed the Mt. Ton of Fun All-Inclusive Playground.
“We are very excited about this opportunity to work with Project Sevier to make a real difference for many children in our community,” said Parks and Recreation Director Bob Parker. “This playground will positively impact children’s lives for many years to come.”
Project Sevier, Inc. is a group of interested citizens with the vision of offering an all-inclusive playground to the youth of our community. Inclusive playgrounds are now the accepted method of playground construction with the goal of integrating all children into one playground venue to build respect and relationships among children of all walks of life.
Project Sevier, Inc. will begin a comprehensive fund raising effort in the very near future. Additional information on Project Sevier, Inc. is available at www.projectsevier.blogspot.com.
