A day of fun at Dollywood’s Splash Country can help families fighting serious childhood illnesses by benefitting Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville.
Dollywood’s Splash Country will hold Ronald McDonald House Day on Saturday, June 6, 2015 and donate a portion of the day’s admissions to support Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville. Water park guests may also purchase a commemorative event T-shirt to further help funding of the house.
Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home away from home” for families of children receiving medical treatment at area hospitals, providing complimentary lodging, food and laundry services, as well as the understanding and fellowship of other families in similar situations.
A beautifully decorated historic home, the first Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville opened in 1985. The organization opened a second house right next door to the original house in 2000 because the need was so great, and together the two buildings can accommodate 16 families or 65 people nightly. The houses have welcomed 52,000 people through their doors since opening.
Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville’s $600,000 annual budget is fully funded by community donations and fundraisers such as Ronald McDonald House Day at Dollywood’s Splash Country.
Dollywood’s Splash Country has been a proud supporter of the Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville since 2003.
The waterpark is open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on June 6 and is located at 1198 McCarter Hollow Rd, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
