Citizens have the opportunity to become certified in CPR and AED while also learning fire safety tips from the Sevierville Fire Department.
The Sevierville Fire Department is offering a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) training course for citizens. They will also give some great fire safety tips at the event.
The classroom-based CPR and AED course will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 122 Prince Street in downtown Sevierville. Class registration is open to the community. Participants will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention and ensuring greater public access to defibrillation will save many lives. Educating providers, caregivers, and the general public on how to respond to these emergencies is vital.
The Sevierville Fire Department CPR and AED course fee is $20 per person, which includes all class materials and a certification card. Participants may make checks payable to the City of Sevierville.
