Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center Welcomes New Special Events and Rental Director

Robert B. Patterson, executive director of the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center announced Tuesday that Cristy Richards joined the staff as Special Events and Rental Director as of Monday, June 8, 2015.

“We are very excited to have Cristy Richards join us,” said Bob Patterson. “Cristy has an extensive background and proven track record in special events management. We believe that she will be a great addition to our staff and will help the Heritage Center to remain a premier venue for special events and help grow our special occasion rentals.”

Cristy was most recently with the United Way of Blount County as a community resource associate and assisted in many United Way special events and fundraising efforts. Cristy also has a rich professional background in education with Loudon County Schools, Knox County Schools and the Parkway Childhood Center and Church in Knoxville, Tenn.

The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is museum and cultural center open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m. Admission for adults is $6; and $4 for seniors 60 years of age and older and children ages 6-17. Children age 5 and under are admitted free. Admission is free for Heritage Center members.
