Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association offers Scholarships to Walters State

Persons who work in the hospitality industry with plans to enroll in hospitality courses at Walters State Community College this fall may be eligible to apply for one of two $500 Continuing Education Scholarships being awarded by the Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association.

Scholarship applicants must be newly enrolling in a hospitality course or courses at the Sevier County campus of Walters State Community College, work in the hospitality industry and be employed for a minimum of one year by a current member of the Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association. Members include attractions, restaurants, lodging properties, retail stores, theaters, and the varied service and supply vendors to those businesses.

See the 2015 Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association Scholarship Application for complete eligibility and application requirements.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity to those already working in the hospitality industry in Sevier County. We see it as an important expansion of our existing scholarship program which benefits Pigeon Forge High School seniors,” sad Joe Fall, department head of Hospitality Business at Walters State and chair of the Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association’s Education Committee.

Scholarship awards will be applied directly to the student’s account once the enrollment and registration process is complete. All applications must be received by Monday, August 1, 2015. Call Joe Fall at (865) 774-5814 for information.
