Gatlinburg Youth Football League has partnered with Rocky Top Sports World to host the 44th Annual Smoky Mountain Thanksgiving Youth Football Tournament. In previous years, the tournament hosted more than 120 teams coming from ten states to compete in the football tournament. With the availability of seven fields at Rocky Top Sports World, the event goal is to reach record registrations.
The Smoky Mountain Thanksgiving Youth Football Tournament will be held Nov. 25-28, 2015 with weigh-ins beginning on Wednesday night. Competition will take place Thursday through Saturday in age divisions 6 to 13. Teams will have a two game minimum, with the goal of three games per team.
“I am very excited about the partnership with Rocky Top Sports World,” said Tournament Director Lee Hammonds. “I am optimistic starting the 44th year of the Thanksgiving Bowl that we can have the best youth football tournament in the country.”
A new opportunity for all youth football players will be included in this year’s event. Former University of Tennessee tailback Jabari Davis will host a speed, agility and quickness camp on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. Registration is open to interested individuals, and discounts are available for tournament participants and teams.
