Gatlinburg Convention Center was filled with food and laughs Thursday night, Sept. 17, 2015 for the annual fundraiser, Taste of Autumn. The fundraiser was conceived 18 years ago, and this year more than 400 people attended, raising over $9,000 for United Way of Sevier County.
“In 18 years, the Taste of Autumn has raised over $175,000 for the United Way of Sevier County,” said City Manager Cindy Cameron Ogle. “We are happy to support the very important community programs provided to Sevier County residents through the United Way.”
Taste of Autumn was emceed by Great American Country Channel’s Nan Kelley, with Trish Suhr, Leanne Morgan and Karen Mills of Country Cool Comedy Tour providing their witty entertainment for the night.
“We are so happy to see this fundraiser continue to grow each year,” said Vicki Simms, Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director. “The entertainment Country Cool provided mixed with the delicious cuisine from our local restaurants made for an event people were excited about coming out for.”
Taste of Autumn was sponsored by Yukon Heath’s Popcorn Emporium, The Melting Pot, Collier Convention & Catering, Wine a Little, The Fox & Parrott, Dick’s Last Resort, BJ&S BBQ, Mellow Mushroom, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Three Jimmy’s, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin, Coca-Cola, Vista Grill, Corky’s, Quaker, Steak & Lube, and Big Daddy’s Pizzeria. Hilton Garden Inn served as Host Hotel, with event décor provided by Gatlinburg Parks & Recreation Staff.
