The holiday season is fast approaching, and Gatlinburg is ringing in Christmas cheer Thanksgiving weekend with Gatlinburg’s Festival of Trees at the Gatlinburg Convention Center Nov. 25 – 29, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This year’s event will exhibit more than 80 elaborately decorated Christmas trees for purchasing. All proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, an organization serving more than 1,600 local youth across Sevier County and offering a safe place to learn and grow through character-building programs designed to strengthen life skills while not at home or school.
Santa Claus will make a special appearance Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be local entertainment featured at the festival throughout the week, along with children’s crafting stations available for a small fee.
“We are thrilled to see the Festival of Trees will be continuing in Gatlinburg this year,” said Vicki Simms, Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director. “The Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains is a tremendous asset to the children of this community, and the Christmas season is a fantastic time to give back to this worthy organization to ensure that it continues to thrive.”
Festival of Trees officially opens to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 25, but kicks off at 6 p.m. Tuesday night with the ticketed Candy Canes and Cocktails Reception, featuring live entertainment and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
