Government safety officials said today that home improvement retailer Home Depot continued to sell 28 different products that posed hazards to consumers after recalls were announced.
According to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Home Depot sold 28 products that were recalled between 2012 and 2015, including products consumers depend upon for safety such as smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. The recall involves about 2,310 units, 1,300 sold by Home Depot directly to consumers and the remaining 1,010 units sent by the company to salvagers or recyclers who may have sold them to consumers.
Federal law prohibits selling consumer products that are subject to a publicly announced voluntary recall by a manufacturer or a mandatory recall ordered by the Commission.
Home Depot and the Commission warn consumers not to use these recalled products.
If a consumer possesses recalled products from the list below, they should immediately contact the recalling firm to receive the refund, replacement or repair listed in the recall.
