Consumers could suffer an electrical shock from defective Rival griddles.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today that Walmart is recalling 330,00 Rival griddles because the heating element can crack, allowing water to get inside and posing a shock hazard when the griddle is plugged into an electrical outlet.
The only model included in the Walmart Rival Griddle recall is Model XJ-14207. “Rival” is printed on the outside edge of the griddle and on the lid. Consumers can find the model number and “Walmart” printed on a label molded into the bottom of the griddle.
Walmart sold these 20-inch Rival griddles in stores nationwide and online at walmart.com between July 2015 and December 2015 for about $20.
No injuries have been reported.
Consumers with a recalled Rival griddle should stop using it and return it to any Walmart store for a full refund.
