An undercover sting has resulted in prostitution charges for two women performing massage services from their homes who offered sex for money to undercover police.
As part of an investigation by the Sevier County Street Crimes Unit, an undercover agent made an appointment on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 for a massage with 37-year-old Talia Smith at her home, located on W. Gold Dust Way in Pigeon Forge. During that massage, Smith reportedly solicited the agent for sexual acts in exchange for money. Agents from the task force searched her home and found methamphetamine and scheduled narcotics, along with evidence she was producing fake identification cards.
Smith was arrested and charged with Promoting Prostitution, Impersonating a Licensed Professional, Criminal Simulation, and 3 counts of Possession of Scheduled Narcotics. She was arraigned before a Magistrate and bond was set at $15,000.
“The Department will continue to investigate reports of prostitution in Sevier County and attempt to shut down these operations,” Sheriff Ron Seals stated.
In another undercover operation on Thursday, April 7, 2016, an agent from the task force made a massage appointment with Lisa L. Funk, 40, at her Sandpiper Court home in Kodak, during which the subject allegedly offered sexual acts in exchange for money.
Funk was arrested and charged with Promoting Prostitution and Impersonating a Licensed Professional. Bond was set at $1500.
