Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder in Sevier County Shooting

The Pigeon Forge Police Department says a suspect has been charged in the shooting of a man at a local campground last November.

Kevin Junior Williams, 41, was arrested at a residence located at 534 Woodvale Lane in Sevierville on Monday, April 25, 2016 and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder in the shooting of Tony A. Thompson.

According to the department, officers responded to a call involving a gunshot at the Shady Oaks Campground, 210 Conner Heights Road in Pigeon Forge, at 8:30 p.m. on November 11, 2015 to find that the victim, 42-year-old Thompson of Sevierville, had been transported to LeConte Medical Center in a private vehicle. Suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, he was then flown by LifeStar to University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment.

Williams is being held in the Sevier County Jail on $750,000 bond.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
