LeConte Medical Center Sports Medicine Department is hosting a free Student Athletic Training Day for high school students interested in athletic training.
The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge. Topics for the day include Lower & Upper Extremity Anatomy, Injuries and Taping Labs, as well as CPR and AED training and certification. This seminar is appropriate for high school students interested in athletic training.
Student Athletic Training Day Schedule:
9 a.m. – Registration
9:15 a.m. – Opening Remarks
9:30 a.m. – Lower Extremity Anatomy and Injuries
10 a.m. – Lower Extremity Taping Lab
10:30 a.m. – Upper Extremity Anatomy and Injuries
11 a.m. – Upper Extremity Taping Lab
11:30 a.m. – Lunch at The Ripken Experience*
12:30 p.m. – Tour of The Ripken Experience
1:15 p.m. – Environmental Conditions
2 p.m. – CPR and AED Training and Certification
*The seminar is free to attend, but students should bring money to have lunch. Meals at The Ripken Experience are approximately $10.
