Gatlinburg Police Searching for Missing Alzheimer’s Patient

The public has been asked to be on the lookout for an elderly woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease that is missing from Gatlinburg, Tenn.

The Gatlinburg Police Department issued a Missing Adult Alert for 73-year-old Sylvia Ringstrom on June 23, 2016. Ringstrom is a white woman with a wig of blond hair, blue eyes and no eyebrows. She is 5′ 8″ tall and weighs 125 pounds.

Sylvia Ringstrom was last seen driving a pickup truck similar to this one, with a gold pin stripe on the doors.

Ringstrom was last seen on Thursday, June 23, at a public restroom on Glades Road in Gatlinburg, Tenn. where she drove away without her husband in a green 1995 Toyota T-100 extended cab pickup with a Tennessee license plate 535LHJ. The pickup turned left from Glades Road onto Highway 321, heading toward Pittman Center and Cocke County.

She was wearing a white top and a pink ribbon on her wrist with her name and husband’s phone number printed on it.

Police ask anyone who sees Ringstrom to stop her and call the department at 865-436-5181 or 911.
