At U.S. Cellular’s free Device Workshop in Sevierville, attendees can hear advice on how to make sure your phone’s data, like contacts and photos, can be backed up before an incident occurs and what steps to take if your smartphone takes a plunge.
As August continues to bring warm weather to Sevierville, hitting the pool or local swim hole is a great way to cool down. Summer is also one of the busiest times for cell phone repairs due to water damage. It’s a horrible, cringe-worthy moment when a smartphone falls into a pool, river or lake. It happens to most people at some point, so it’s smart to be prepared with a plan to recover and restore your latest device, like the iPhone 6s, Samsung Galaxy S7 or LG G5, if it ever becomes waterlogged.
“In today’s mobile society, people depend on a high-quality network for everything – scheduling their busy lives, connecting with friends and family, posting social media updates and planning their summer vacations,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. “So if your smartphone gets wet this summer, the key to success is acting quickly. Keep a cool head, use solutions that have been proven effective and avoid actions that might cause further damage and ruin your well-deserved vacation.”
The free Device Workshop will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 from 5-6 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Store, 562 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville. Call 865-429-4777 for more information or to RSVP. You don’t have to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.
