A Sevierville man has been arrested on Felony charges after he sought sexual acts with a minor, according to police.
Officers from Knoxville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and its Violence Reduction Team arrested 31-year-old John David Anderson, of Sevierville, just before 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 as a result of an undercover sting. Anderson allegedly communicated with an undercover officer posing as a teenage girl, then drove to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old female to engage in sexual acts. At the time of his arrest, Anderson was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Anderson is charged with Solicitation of a Minor-Aggravated Statutory Rape (Class E Felony), Simple Possession of Schedule VI, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Police transported him to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility where he is being held on a $22,000 bond and a bond condition of no contact with minors.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
