Pigeon Forge Citizen Police Academy Offers Insight Into Police Services

The Pigeon Forge Police Department will begin its 17th session of the Citizen Police Academy at the end of January and the registration deadline is fast approaching.

The first class will be held 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2017 and continue each Tuesday night into April. Some of the topics to be covered are patrol operations, accident investigation, Tactical Rescue Unit operations, domestic violence, K9 operations, active shooter response, and DUI enforcement. There will also be ride-along opportunities with the officers as well as a trip to the firing range.

Anyone interested in attending the Citizen Police Academy must pick up an application at the Pigeon Forge Police Department at City Hall, 3225 Rena Street in Pigeon Forge, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and return it by Jan. 20.
