Gatlinburg Police and agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are investigating a woman found dead at a local resort on Sunday.
According to Chief Randall Brackins, the Gatlinburg Police Department received a call at about 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from a man reporting that he could not locate his wife.
Officers responded to assist in the search at MountainLoft Resort, 110 Mountain Loft Drive in Gatlinburg, where the couple was staying. The woman was found in an adjoining room and paramedics with the Gatlinburg Fire Department declared her deceased at the scene.
The incident is under joint investigation and the name of the deceased woman was not released.
