The City of Gatlinburg and Sevier County will hold a memorial ceremony in observance of the one year anniversary of the Wildfires. The ceremony will honor those who lost their lives, recognize first responders and give thanks for the progress made on the community’s recovery in the year following the disaster. The ceremony will also include an announcement about a lasting memorial to remember the 14 people who perished on November 28, 2016.
The community is invited to the service which will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at the Rocky Top Sports World Complex, located at 1870 Sports World Boulevard in Gatlinburg – the venue that served thousands of Gatlinburg residents and visitors as the community relief shelter in the days following the devastating wildfires.
