Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters and members of the Sevier County Commission recently thanked the county fire departments and rescue squad for their service and presented them with their annual supplements at the Sevier County Fire Chiefs Association meeting.
“The events of November 28, 2016, show how vital fire and rescue departments are to our community,” said Mayor Waters. “This is one way for us to say thank you to those who serve in these departments.”
Each year, the fire departments, rescue squad and Fire Chiefs Association receive funding that goes towards supplying them with fire and rescue protection materials and supplies. This year, the total amount was $1,141,000.
