As parent or caregivers of children, there are many issues of great concern. Two such issues in today’s society unfortunately, are bullying and sexual abuse. Such issues tear at caregivers’ hearts and leave the question: What can we do to stop this for our children and community?
The first step for any parent or caregiver is to become educated. In Sevier County, an educational opportunity is available on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Dr. Laura Hebert, NCC, will present a workshop on: Childhood Bullying and Sexual Abuse. Dr. Hebert is the School Counselor of Seymour Primary School, and School Counselor Coordinator of Johnson University. She will be sharing beneficial information on identifying signs of bullying and sexual abuse, plus actions to take to stop or prevent their occurrence. Show support to your children by attending and learning what you can do as a parent or caregiver.
This program will be held at the Sevier County Senior Center, located at 1220 W. Main Street in Sevierville, on March 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. This class is Free, but please call the Senior Center at 865-453-8080 if you plan to attend. Light refreshments will be available.
