Officers deployed tear gas and arrested more than a dozen people at a home in the Belle Meadows subdivision on Thursday while looking for an individual wanted on a felony warrant.
Following a vehicle they believed was driven by a wanted man, officers from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office arrived at 1212 Luke Lea Street in Belle Meadows on Thursday, July 12, 2018 to execute a criminal warrant. Additional officers responded, including officers from the Sevierville Police Department.
A man was encountered and detained in the garage area, telling officers that there were other people in the home and identifying an individual wanted on six felony warrants in Sevier County.
According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, officers then tried to get the people inside the home to come out, but they would not respond. 46-year-old Shon Tamaddoni, the resident of the home, eventually exited but would not cooperate with officers, the sheriff’s office said. Special operation teams from the Sheriff’s Office and police departments of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge responded to the scene. Officers again tried to get the occupants to exit the home and several subjects then came outside, where they were detained without incident.
After several more unsuccessful attempts to get the remaining people to exit, officers deployed tear gas, entered the house and found the remaining subjects hiding inside. Officers took 19 people into custody and charged them with prevention or obstruction with the service of a warrant. Four of the 19 had outstanding warrants for various charges.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle stolen from Pigeon Forge was found at the residence. Officers seized one vehicle pursuant to the sale of narcotics.
