Cash Express Robbery Suspect Apprehended after Chapman Highway Chase

Authorities say a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a Cash Express in Seymour on Tuesday has been taken into custody after leading officers on a chase down Chapman Highway.

A chase from Sevier County to Knox County that had local social media buzzing Wednesday afternoon has ended in the arrest of 29-year-old Jordan Lynn James, of Sevierville, who is suspected of robbing the Cash Express in Seymour at gunpoint on January, 15, 2019.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, detectives developed James as a suspect in the robbery early Wednesday. Officers and investigators staged at a location on Boyd’s Creek Road to arrest James when the suspect’s vehicle passed by them. James fled when officers attempted to stop his vehicle and they pursued him into Knox County, where the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted in the chase.

James’ vehicle was eventually stopped on Chapman Highway in the Colonial Village area. Officers took James into custody without incident and transported him to Sevier County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is continuing.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
