Two students at Seymour Junior High have been charged with harassment after they allegedly threatened other students.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office was notified of alleged threats made by students on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 toward other students at Seymour Junior High School. Officers responded to the school and called investigators to look into the threats. Two male students, age 14 and 15, were taken into custody and charged with harassment after that investigation.
The teens were incarcerated in the Sevier County Juvenile Facility and will have a hearing at a later date.
Seals said that extra officers were placed at the school for precautionary measures.
Authorities did not release the nature of the threats.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
