Suspects Rounded Up after Sevier County Drug Sting

Local law enforcement set out before dawn on Tuesday to round up suspected drug dealers in the culmination of a six-month undercover drug operation.

A Sevier County Grand Jury last week indicted 51 suspects as a result of a six-month undercover drug operation by the Sevier County Street Crimes Unit, a multi-agency task force

Officers from participating agencies gathered in the early morning hours on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 to arrest those indicted for the sale and delivery of various drugs in Sevier County, including Heroin and Methamphetamine. As of Wednesday morning, 34 of the 51 drug suspects were arrested. Officers also arrested several other people during the round up on unrelated charges and outstanding warrants ranging from violation of probation to other drug charges.

A search warrant was conducted on a home located at 4372 Boogertown Road where Methamphetamine was found. That investigation is ongoing at this time and more arrests are expected.

Agencies assisting in the round-up on Tuesday were: Sevier County Sheriff’s Office; police departments of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, ATF, DEA, FBI, Homeland Security, U.S. Marshals Office and the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
