Art is happening in downtown Sevierville. Artist Chris Myers will exhibit his paintings and drawings at Courthouse Donuts/Dyers Downtown through the month of October. Enjoy art, food, and music during a reception for the artist Thursday, Oct. 11, 2017 from 5:30–8 p.m. This event is free to the public. Exhibitions are part of an on-going series sponsored by the Sevierville Commons Arts Council and Sevierville Commons Association.
From an early age, local artist Chris Myers has had an affinity for drawing the natural world, especially the wildlife of Tennessee. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Chris has been a freelance artist and illustrator, as well as a designer with a stained glass studio. A member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, his work can be found in such publications as Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Tennessee. Chris Myers is also the recipient of a Distinguished Media Award at the 17th Sevier County Biennial Juried Exhibition and the featured artist of the 65th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage.
