A woman’s call for help resulted in a confrontation with Sevier Sheriff’s Deputies early Sunday morning in Kodak.
According to a release, a woman called 911 to report that her husband was threatening to harm himself. Deputies with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Joyce Way in Kodak and when they arrived a confrontation occurred that resulted in deputies firing shots, striking the man. He was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment, but his condition was not released.
No deputies suffered injury. The names of the deputies involved in the shooting were not released.
4th District Attorney General James Dunn requested TBI Special Agents conduct an investigation of the incident and they are in the process of interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. The investigation was ongoing and no other information was available.
