COVID-19 testing will be offered in Sevier County beginning Friday with a drive-thru testing center in Sevierville.
Drive-thru COVID-19 testing will be available at the Sevier County Health Department, located at 719 Middle Creek Road in Sevierville, from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. Priority will be given to those who have symptoms of the coronavirus. No appointment is necessary.
Starting Monday, April 13, the health department will offer testing from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–4 p.m. by appointment only. People who need a test must call 865-453-1032, complete an assessment, and then an appointment may be set.
Another drive-thru COVID-19 testing event will be held 9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 by appointment only.
According to the Tennessee Department of Health as of Wednesday, April 8, there have been 4,362 positive COVID-19 tests statewide, with 19 positive tests in Sevier County. Eight of the Sevier County cases have reportedly recovered.
Statewide, 592 cases tested have recovered and 79 were fatal.
Cases among Tennessee residents are counted by their county of residence. Residents of other states who were tested at Tennessee healthcare facilities are counted as “Out of State” and that number of positive tests is listed as 282.
