The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person or persons who shot and attempted to behead a farmer’s bison over the weekend.
On Monday morning, Sevier deputies responded to a call from Edward Ingle on Dinkins Road in Seymour reporting that someone shot one of his bison and tried to cut it’s head off. Ingle told deputies that he last saw his two bison alive in the field on Friday, May 22. The field is near the corner of Porterfield Gap Road & Dinkins Road.
Neighbors were on the scene and told deputies they witnessed someone driving a black Toyota in and out of the area, and parked in the same area where the bison was shot. They also stated that they heard a loud gun shot Sunday morning around 4:36 a.m.
“RIP sweet bison,” neighbor Tammy Yates Barry said in a Facebook post. “I enjoyed watching you for the past 6 years.”
