The Sevierville Police Department announced Tuesday that three people have been arrested in connection with the vandalism at Sevier County High School on Monday, Feb. 24, 2015.
Officers responded to an alarm at the high school just after 5 a.m. on Monday. They found that someone had entered the main school building through a window at the back of the school and committed significant vandalism throughout the building. Vandals broke windows and display cases; smashed computers, DVD players and security cameras; damaged cafeteria equipment; vandalized the boy’s locker room; and dumped cans of paint onto the basketball court floor. The large bear statue in the main lobby was also knocked off its pedestal base and damaged.
Initial estimates place the Sevier County High School vandalism damage at more than $30,000.
According to SPD Detective Ray Brown, investigators were able to retrieve video from Sevier County High School security cameras that allegedly showed the three people, who were identified and subsequently arrested.
SPD Detective Ray Brown has charged Dylan J. Cheek, 21, of Pigeon Forge; Marcus A. Paquette, 21, of Sevierville; and Krystal A. Smith, 21, of Pigeon Forge with felony burglary and felony vandalism.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilt in a court of law.
