Pride Night OUT with Knoxville Ice Bears to Fund Grants

Concentric Community Circles, a giving circle focused on building institutional capacity of the LGBTQ communities in the Knoxville area, announces the second annual Pride Night OUT with the Ice Bears, Knoxville’s professional hockey team, Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Pride Night OUT with the Ice Bears will include buffet dinner, ice box seating, cash bar, player visits, door prizes, and much more, just $50 per person.

Expect the high-energy rink side ice box seating only hockey can deliver. Prior to the puck drop guests will enjoy a bountiful buffet dinner with available cash bar. Player visits, door prize opportunities, meet and greets, delicious desserts, Hunnies cheerleaders appearance, Chilly Bear selfies, and more are in store.

The evening will be packed with excitement as participants meet team President and GM Mike Murry, Assistant GM Dave Feather, and Cole Burkhalter, recipient of the first Brendan Burke Internship, associated with the You Can Play project that addresses LGBTQ hockey involvement and inclusion in the arena, rink, front office, and locker rooms.

Pride Night OUT with the Ice Bears expands social opportunities, promotes understanding, builds community capacity, and provides for outreach to the sports community, while raising funds and support for the Concentric Community Circles, a giving circle raising funds and awarding grants to build organizational capacity within the LGBTQ community.

Pride Night OUT with the Ice Bears will take place at the home ice of the Ice Bears at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The Ice Bears will be playing Huntsville Havoc at this special exhibition match. The Knoxville Ice Bears are recent league champions and holders of four SPHL President’s Trophy.

Generous sponsor support, as well as ticket sales, will assist in funding Gay Community organization grants program by Concentric Community Circles.

Pride Night OUT with the Ice Bears funded four $500 Pride Grants last year, as well as providing substantial support to Knoxville Pride. Three Community Pride Grants were offered as prizes to participants in the 2016 Gay Pride Parade. The winning units then direct the Community Pride Grants to the LGBTQ organizations of their choice.

An additional $500 was awarded to an allied organization, Sex Week at UT, addressing LGBTQ issues. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in build institutional support for organizations working on a daily basis in the LGBTQ community all while enjoying an energy filled evening with the Ice Bears Hockey.
